He has made it his life’s mission to share the lessons, techniques, and experience he has acquired over his 20+ years of experience as a BJJ practitioner, professor, and world-class competitor.
With a competitive career spanning over two decades, Galvão is one of the highest achieving BJJ black belts in both his weight division and the absolute weight division. His track record of victory includes:

Not only is he a highly-accomplished athlete, he is also one of the greatest coaches the sport has ever seen. In just ten years, Galvão has built one of the best teams in jiu-jitsu today, with numerous team trophies at all levels of the sport. From the Atos Jiu-Jitsu Academy’s Headquarters in San Diego, California, he has produced World Champion athletes in all divisions – both male and female – from Kid’s divisions to Adult and Master’s, and white belt all the way to black belt. He is also the only coach in jiu-jitsu history to have both coached his team to world title and won a world title in his own division at the same time.
Professor Galvão leads by example, and has developed a world-class team through his inexhaustible work ethic and passion for jiu-jitsu.
