Co-founder of the Atos Jiu Jitsu Academy, Professor André Galvão began training at the age of 14 and has dedicated his life to the art of jiu jitsu.
With a competitive career spanning over two decades, Galvão is one of the highest achieving Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belts in sport, both in his weight division and in the absolute weight division.
He is a five-time IBJJF World Champion in the back belt division, won the 2011 ADCC Championship in his weight division and the absolute division, and has won the presticious ADCC Superfight three times in a row.
Not only is he a highly-accomplished athlete, he is also one of the greatest coaches the sport has ever seen. In just ten years, Galvão has created the best team in jiu jitsu today, having recently won the IBJJF World Championships team trophy for the second year in a row. He has also trained numerous World Champion athletes from all divisions, both male and female, and from the Kid’s to the Adult and Master’s divisions.
Professor Galvao leads by example, and he has developed a world-class team because they are inspired by his inexhaustible work ethic and passion for jiu jitsu.
